Kudos go out from us to an unlikely suspect: DISD Trustee Bruce Parrott. Last week, Parrott announced his opposition to seeking new property taxes for DISD.

Diane Rado of the Dallas Morning News quoted Parrott as saying: "We need to stay within our means, in my opinion. Everyone out there is hurting."

Parrott joined trustees Nancy Bingham and Edwin Flores in trying to find a better way to solve DISD's financial situation.
